Direction

A space between characters, a / between words. ITU-R M.1677-1 covers the 26 letters, the ten digits and the punctuation below — anything else is skipped rather than given an invented code.

Sound

Timing is the standard one unit for a dit, three for a dah, and three and seven units of silence between characters and words. Speed is set the usual way, by how long the word PARIS takes: it is exactly 50 units, so 15 wpm makes a unit 80 ms.

How it works

1Pick a direction and type. Going the other way, put a space between characters and a / between words.
2The table is ITU-R M.1677-1 — the 26 letters, ten digits and the punctuation the standard actually assigns. Anything else is skipped rather than given an invented code.
3Press Play to hear it. Speed is in words per minute, measured the standard way: the word PARIS is exactly 50 units long.
4Slow it down to about 5 wpm to learn the rhythm — the shapes are much easier to hear than to read.
