PDF Compressor

PDFPopular

Make a PDF smaller in your browser — losslessly, by recompressing the photos already inside it, or by flattening pages to images when you need a much smaller file.

Method

Repacks the file without changing a pixel — text, links, forms and bookmarks all survive. How much it saves depends entirely on how wasteful whatever produced the PDF was, so an already-optimised file will barely move.

How it works

1Drop in one or more PDFs.
2Lossless repacks the file and changes nothing you can see — how much it saves depends on how wasteful whatever made the PDF was.
3Recompress photos finds JPEGs already stored inside the PDF and re-encodes just those at a lower quality, leaving text and vectors untouched — real savings on scans and photo-heavy PDFs, nothing to do on a PDF that has no embedded photos.
4Flatten to images turns every page into a picture: much smaller on scans, but the text stops being selectable or searchable.
5If a method cannot make a file smaller you get the original back untouched, rather than something bigger.
